The BrainLite games (Time Loop, PaperWar) only store what they need to work: an anonymous account with a player name, your progress and your online games. You don’t need an e-mail address or your real name.

1. Controller

2. What we process and why

Account: a random account ID, your player name with a four-digit number (e.g. “Watchful Clock#5737”) and the creation time – to recognise you in the game, for online play and friends.

Cloud save: progress, settings, language and chosen figures, about once a minute – so you can keep playing after switching devices or reinstalling.

Linking and friends: linked devices and games, link codes (valid for 10 minutes), your invite code, your friends and requests, and who invited whom.

Online games: participants, moves, results and times of matches and duels, recorded runs (your opponent sees them as a ghost), heartbeats during a match, rating and leaderboard. Quick-chat messages (ready-made phrases only) go straight to the other players and are not stored.

Online status: which game you have open and what you’re doing in it (e.g. “in the menu”, “playing PaperTactics”), about every 45 seconds – so your friends can see who’s online. You can turn it off on the friends page.

Push notifications (only if you allow them): the delivery address of your browser or device – so we can tell you it’s your turn in a duel. They are delivered through your browser’s push service (e.g. Google, Mozilla, Apple). You can turn them off on the duel page or in your browser settings.

Game box (PaperWar): ink, unlocked figures, daily rewards and gifts between friends.

Server logs: IP address and time – for security and troubleshooting.

The legal basis is playing the game (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Server logs and protection against cheating are based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

3. What others see

Your player name with number (friends, lobbies, matches, duels and the leaderboard), your rating on the leaderboard, your online status for friends (can be turned off) and – in a match or duel – your moves or your run.

4. On your device

The game stores your progress and settings in your device’s local storage. This is technically necessary (§ 25(2) TDDDG). There are no cookies for advertising or analytics.

5. Service providers

Supabase (Supabase Inc., USA) runs the database, sign-in and real-time connection for us as a processor. The data is stored in a data centre in Ireland (EU); EU standard contractual clauses cover any access from the USA.

Cloudflare (Cloudflare Inc., USA) hosts the games’ website and processes IP addresses in doing so. If you get a game from an app store, its privacy policy applies as well.

We don’t sell data and use no advertising, analytics or tracking services.

6. How long we keep data

Your account and all related data are kept until you delete the account. Link codes expire after 10 minutes; heartbeats and matchmaking entries are only needed during a match or search.

7. Deleting your account

In the game: red bookmark on the book cover → “Change” → “Delete account”. This deletes your account, cloud save, friends, ratings and game box, also for linked devices. The progress stored on your device stays until you delete the app or the website data.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). Write to [Kontakt-E-Mail] and include your player name with number. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

9. Children

The games ask neither for age nor real names. Player names are assigned automatically; names you choose yourself are checked against a block list.
